Carl Douglas’s famous song “Everybody loves Kung Fu fighting” rings in the ears of everyone about the majesty and absolute cool factor of every kung fu movie. In my opinion though, if you haven’t watched Ip Man (pronounced “eep- mun”), you ain’t seen nothing yet.
In the 1960s, an ambitious businessman moves on assignment to Thailand in order to allow himself to be groomed for promotion in the airline business. His goals are large and his dreams equally so. Yatsuka seems to have everything figured out. He has a waiting bride in Japan, but a home run he hits, while ignoring an order from his boss to bunt, changes his life forever.
When I first heard of the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel from my boss who introduced this movie to me, I scoffed. Old people, and British humor for that matter was enough to make my mind go “Oh, bollocks!”. After watching this movie however, I found how gravely mistaken I was.
